There are a fair number of films that I’m looking forward to this year, but this week lead to developments for three of those: Iron Man 3, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Much Ado About Nothing.
The new trailer for Iron Man 3 was released, more posters, an earlier UK release date (hell yes, also true of Star Trek Into Darkness) and advanced bookings open. All great news as far as DTSFT are concerned. Thank you April.
Then there’s Catching Fire. Probably playing off Jennifer Lawrence’s Oscar win, and subsequent adoration pretty much everywhere (Vanity Fair and NY Mag), there have been eleven portrait posters released. These have been spread out to generate more buzz but they look pretty good to me. Check out Cinna’s amazing chair and the fact that Katniss is the only character not sitting… Nice character work. That’s November sorted.
And finally, but possibly most excitingly for me, was the trailer release for Joss Whedon’s version of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. That film he made in “two weeks” (just about) after wrapping on The Avengers. I cannot contain my excitement that this film will be released commercially in June.
This year is shaping up to be great for me. Film wise.
